Roger H. Schmedlen, is not a university professor or retired law enforcement official. He is a real world security practitioner and security expert with over thirty-five years field experience in as a private
sector security consultant and international investigator.
It is generally accepted that to be considered a credible expert witness in security and loss control litigation, board certification as a CPP is necessary. Mr. Schmedlen was qualified to obtain his Certified
Protection Professional credential by review at the inception of this program. However, rather than being grandfathered into this program, he elected to earn his certification by examination for increased credibility.
Mr. Schmedlen has authored many published articles covering security, loss prevention and investigation topics. He is employed with Loss Prevention Concepts, Ltd., a business which provides a variety of
security and investigative related services ranging from security surveys, security consulting and electronic countermeasures to specialized investigation services. An electronic version of his extensive curriculum vitae is available upon
request. (Please see Curriculum Vitae Request.)
